SAPELE : Speaker Urges Constituents to Pay Electricity Bills

14 September 2016 State

SAPELE – Monday Igbuya, who is the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly,  has called on his constituents to pay up their electricity bills before they can agitate for improved electricity supply.

The Speaker, who made the call in Amukpe, Sapele Local Government Area of the state during his constituency briefing  said residents of Delta state have to pay their electricity bills up to date before they can exercise the right to agitate for improved electricity supply.

He spoke when people confronted him with the problem of epileptic power supply over the years in the area and their agitation which has not yielded any fruit from the Benin Electricity Distribution Company.

It will be recalled that the electricity company recently announced that electricity bills indebtedness of Sapele runs into billions of naira, and that it was consequently finding it hard to provide constant electricity supply to the area, urging the area to “pay up,” as it was working towards providing improved electricity supply to the people.
